The copper cezve (also called turka) is the traditional utensil for brewing dense, aromatic Turkish coffee. Hand-hammered and then hand-tinned inside and out, it provides a food-safe surface and spreads heat evenly to create the signature foam without scorching the coffee. The wooden handle stays cool for a comfortable grip, and a precise spout makes it easy to pour into small cups. Ideal for 1–2 small cups for a small size or 3–4 cups for a large size. Suitable for gas, electric and ceramic hobs (induction with adapter only).

How to brew Turkish coffee (express method)

  1. Grind very fine (flour-like).

  2. Add cold water + sugar (optional) + coffee (about 6–7 g per cup).

  3. Stir and place over low-to-medium heat.

  4. When the foam rises, remove before boiling and let it settle. Repeat twice for a generous foam.

  5. Pour slowly into cups. Do not filter (the grounds will settle).

Care & safety

  • Rinse with lukewarm water and dry immediately.

  • Avoid abrasive products inside (to preserve the tin).

  • Do not heat empty. Do not use in the dishwasher.

Who is this for?

  • Lovers of Turkish/Greek/Armenian coffee.

  • Coffee geeks seeking finer thermal control than a standard coffee maker.

  • An authentic gift for coffee and craftsmanship enthusiasts.

FAQ

Is it induction-compatible? Not directly. Use an induction adapter plate.

Does copper affect the taste? No. The interior is tinned, so the coffee never touches bare copper.

Which size should I choose? 200 ml for 1–2 small cups; 250 ml for 2–3; 350 ml for 3–4; 500 ml or 750 ml for larger cups.
