Sauna and Banya

Russian banya, an alternative to sauna or hammam.

Banya is a hot steam bath. It differs from hot dry Scandinavian sauna. The steam is created by pouring water on a brick oven or hot stones. In the stove, the temperature can reach 100°C. The idea is to stay a fw minutes inside the stove, then to have a cold shower, to jump into icy water or to roll up in the snow.

Banya is extremely relaxing. You will find here our selection of items for banya and sauna : all our items are sourced in Russia and Belarus, they are perfectly adapted to the conditions of Russian banya, and are also suitable for saunas and hammams. If you are a frequent user of any kind of steam bath, we recommend to prefer buckets and ladles made from alder or ash tree rather than linden.
